Winter vaccinations in Orpington

Winter carries with it an increased risk of serious illness for some. That’s why I’m encouraging all eligible individuals in Orpington to get their jabs before the onset of the colder months.

Even if you have already been vaccinated or ill with the flu or Covid previously, immunity fades over time and viruses change every year.

The NHS is offering flu and COVID-19 vaccines to those at greater risk of illness.

Everyone aged 65 and over, pregnant women, care home residents, frontline health and care staff, unpaid carers and household contacts of those at higher risk, are eligible. Those with certain health conditions may also be included, with a list accessible via:

The flu vaccine is being offered to most children, including all aged 2 and 3 years old, school aged children from reception to year 11 and those aged 6 months to 17 years old with certain health conditions.

Although the NHS may make initial contact, you do not have to wait for an invitation before booking an appointment and you should speak to your GP or local pharmacy to book an appointment.

Orpington Primary Care Network has a Designated Site at Chelsfield to provide vaccination services. The regional Bromley team are also accepting walk-ins at One Bromley Health Hub at, Upper Mall, The Glades Shopping Centre, High Street, Bromley, BR1 1DN between 08:30 – 13:00; 13:30 – 17:00; and 17:30 – 20:00.

Nearby Community Pharmacies offering COVID-19 vaccinations are:

  • Osbon Pharmacy - 330 High Street, Orpington BR6 0NQ
